What's the Future Ever Done for Me?

The Daisy Tea Room

An attractive Vitrolite facade on this forgotten restaurant situated on the S/E corner of College and Bathurst. Currently the home of Sneaky Dees . Thanks to M. Ross for the info in locating this one.

Below, the building can be seen in 1951 or so with the second floor addition.

A closer look at this photo reveals this cover from the Saturday Evening Post.

I’m pretty confident the Daisy was in the same building as Sneaky Dees.. the placement of the entrance of the Daisy either makes it face North West or North East. If it is across from Sneaks then it would face North East, which based on the connected building in the photo, would put it 20 metres South of College street in the back of the current parking lot.

I also have met a woman who frequented the Daisy in the 50’s and she says it’s where Sneaks is as well.

As a side note, Sneaks was originally a Dominion grocer, and then numerous restaurant incarnations.

Do you know of any more info about the spot?

    Thanks!
