Lost Toronto

It is a bit painful to compare those two photos. The circa 1930 photo is so much more pleasant to look at as one can sense a closeness between the inhabitants of that era and the tasteful architecture of the buildings. Can we say the same thing about today’s shot of the same scene? I see nothing that pleases the eye.
