When I lived in this area, the theatre showed porno and the Loblaws was in indoor skateboard park…..

The streetcars were slow but steady. Cost effective too I think. I still remember how they smelled…not unpleasant – a little metalic – anyone remember that??? Too bad they got rid of so many and paved over the rails.

I knew lots of people living in old warehouses on Wade back in the early 80s. It was a scary corner. Perhaps a bit less so now. But in that pic, the scene looks positively nostalgic.

Back in the days when an Edsel was a pretty cool car, and Toronto was still a do-able place for average folks.

Yes it was. I lived up the street from here in 1979 and my apartment (top floor of a house) was $150.00/month. I got a room mate so the rent was then $75.00.
The house (3 story detached) was for sale for $58,000.00…..

I could not figure this on out and now I feel stupid because I have drien up Lansdowne and made a left on Wade a Hundred times
