What's the Future Ever Done for Me?

Queen and Parliament/Then and Now

Note the 3 Stooges poster on the front of the streetcar.

It looks like they were appearing at the CNE.

  1. Shame what the souvlaki place has done to the lovely lines of the bank building on the corner. You see this sort of thing all the time and it’s pretty much always a disrespectful botch of a conversion.

  2. Wow, fantastic! My old neighbourhood! I used to live right across the street from here, on Power St. It’s amazing how little this side of the street has changed. I wonder what used to be on the northwest corner, where the apartment high-rises are now?

  3. Yes, the Three Stooges appeared at the afternoon Grandstand show at the CNE in Aug 1962 or 63. My grandmother took me. There was Larry, Moe and probably Curly Joe or Joe Derita [I think] since Jerhome[Curly] Howard had passed away in 1952.

Incredible footage – I was at the show, age 5 or 6, and while I have a flickering memory of them on the stage my clearest recollection was of them driving out in ’62/’63 Thunderbirds…and there one is in the film. I would have been another one of the little critters standing there. The Stooges were followed (or opend by) the “Hell Drivers” car show! Thanks for the confirmation of an early memory.

    • Excellent story. I remember seeing the Hell Drivers (we snuck in) at the C.N.E. but not the Stooges….
