What's the Future Ever Done for Me?

Honest Ed’s Signs

Yesterday was the day that Honest Ed’s sold off it’s collection of hand painted signs with all of the proceeds going to Charity. Alison Hickey (a former student of mine) went down as my proxy and bought me a couple of keepsakes.

photo 1 photo 2I used to work at Honest Ed’s when I was a teenager. I would go in for a few hours after school and on Saturdays….

It’s the end of an era.

A short video and report from the Toronto Star  with a quote from Ailson can be found here:

Honest Ed’s, Sam The Record Man,- you name it, what church, school, house etc. special place from our youth, is safe ? Hell which park shall we rip up and sell ? ‘Do we really need that lake ? ‘ – ‘If we just paved over a portion of it, you know a couple of miles out, get rid of that island, and we’d have more parking.’
