Several floors of this building were used by the Toronto Public
Library as “overflow” for the library system before the Metro
Reference Library was opened in 1978. I remember that the
Sciences section was located here.

A lefty arts coop used to be headquartered in this building until the late ’80s at least – DEC, I forget what the initials stood for, but the D was for Development. I worked there for a summer. They had two or three floors of the building, including a bookstore and theatre in the basement. Nice people for a bunch of commies. They moved to College & Euclid after that – the building with the Starbucks.
