It doesn’t look much different now but it will!

An old house on the opposite side of the street circa 1983. It’s hard to imagine that not only was this once a residential neighbourhood but that it was also the centre of the town. The Parliament buildings were a block away and Gooderham and Worts a major employer.

I actualy looked at a house for sale on Cherry Street in the 1970s.
It was a little bit north of that building and on the other side of the street.
The reason I didn’t buy it was that it was half of a semi detatched and the other half had been demolished.
Where the other half had been there were wooden beams at about a 45 degree angle supporting that wall with the bases coming down in a parking lot where tractor trailers were coming in and out at night.
I had visions of someone reversing into one of the supports and the house falling down.
